EASY BATH SALTS
1 cup course salt, epsom salts, or mineral salt
3 tablespoons baking soda
1 teaspoon or more essential oil (lavender or rose is easy to find)
1 drop food coloring (optional)
Mix together. Scent to your tastes and color if you wish. I use 1 drop of red food coloring if I am making a rose bath, and one of blue for lavender. Put in wide mouth jar. Use 1/3 cup per bath.
LUXURIOUS LAVENDER BODY SCRUB
1 cup course salt
1/2 cup safflower, sunflower or almond oil
1 tablespoon lavender oil or more
1 tablespoon wheatgerm oil or 1 tsp. vitamin e oil (optional)
Mix together. A thin layer of oil should remain on the top of the salt. Scent to preference. Spoon into a wide mouthed jar. After soaking in the shower stir with your hand to mix the salt and oil and scoop up a bit in your hand. Scrub in circles all over your body. Use more when necessary. RINSE well. Dry with a towel. Your skin will be very soft and smooth and will smell of lavender.

A SHOWER GEL Recipe
If you are a peppermint girl, go for it! Because some people are a bit sensitive to it , I usually don't recommend it as a bath. I do LOVE it in a shower gel that I make:
4 ounces Lavender castile soap
1 ounce Peppermint castile soap
2 ounces aloe vera juice
1 ounce safflower oil
1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/2 teaspoon lavender extract
3 dashes of clary sage
1/2 teaspoon Dune perfume or perfume oil (optional)
Mix, stir carefully so it doesn't foam up, bottle use in the shower. You can adjust the level of peppermint to your tastes. This is wonderful during the hot summer months. You feel clean, but your skin is soft and moisturized.
Happy bathing!
ROSE MILK BATH
This is easy and very soothing because of the oat flour. Also, if you use fine oat four instead of the commercial colloidal oatmeal it is a LOT cheaper.
2 cups powdered milk
2/3 cup colloidal oatmeal or fine oat flour
3 tablespoons baking soda
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon rose essential oil
1/4 cup dried rose petals (optional)
Mix together the milk powder, oatmeal, baking soda and cornstarch til well blended. with a fork, whisk in the rose oil until well mixed. Add the rose petals and put into a wide mouthed jar. Use 2/3 cup per bath.
MUSCLE CALMING LAVENDER BATH
This is great to use when you are achy from sports or a workout.
2 cups Epsom salts
1/4 cup sunflower oil
1/2 cup baking soda
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon lavender essential oil
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
Mix all the ingredients together, and put in a wide-mouthed jar. Use 2/3 cup per bath.
MORNING SCRUB
I have been making this scrub for about 15 years. Martha Stewart just posted a version of this on her website, so I guess now it's in vogue!
1/4 cup sunflower oil
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup coffee grounds
1/8 - 1/2 teaspoon peppermint oil or extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix all ingredients together and spoon into a wide mouthed jar. Dip your fingers into the jar and stir in any oil that may have accumulated on the surface. Scrub your skin, rinse and wash with soap. Your skin will be moisturized and refreshed.
If you are reluctant to use coffee grounds, you can substitute 1/4 coffee syrup.
SKIN SOOTHING FACIAL
2/3 cup uncooked oatmeal
3 tablespoons sunflower oil
1 raw fresh egg
1/2 fresh tomato, chopped
juice of a half fresh lemon
1/8 teaspoon basil oil (optional)
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until it is a paste. To Use: Wash your face. Pat dry. Apply the masque with your fingertips. Let dry (about 10-15 minutes). Rinse with warm (not hot) water. Moisturize.
