Home : Meditation Tree : Dreams : Active Imagination
Active imagination is like daydreaming, at its simplest. Lie down. Take many long deep breaths and begin to land inside a particular dream. Dwell there for a moment. See the landscape. Begin to let your imagination take you into whatever happens next. Objects appear in our dreams: doors, doorknobs, a birdcage, a nest, an ocean, a lighthouse. Ask an object why it is there and listen to the answer. Imagine being the object and see what it feels like from the inside out. Sometimes the message of an object is very different, once felt from the inside, than you might have assumed.
Active Imagination can be even more rewarding, sometimes life transforming, when done in the context of a dream workshop.
